When they came to my house to do a cleaning. The guy kept trying to get me out of the room by sending me on errands. I had my son do it instead. Then he tried to put an old part in my burner saying that I needed a new part. He brought in a bucket of old parts. This is not the first time. This company is nothing but a bunch of rip offs. One time they claimed that they put oil on my tank and instead they blew air in the line which also ruined my oil gauge on the top of the tank. These people are lowest form of vermin Ive ever encountered .

not use this company unless you want put your family at risk for CO2 carbon monoxide poisoning/death. Their technician they sent never checked the flue line inside our home when they did the annual inspection/cleaning.

We did not know there was a clog in that line. It wasnt discovered till we found a leak on interior wall where the flue line connects to the chimney. We called PETRO and they told us. Its fine as long as its not pouring out we asked if safe to run the heat they said yes.

2 days later it was still leaking, we called again and were told they should of never said that we will get someone out right away (Saturday 8-12) but again asked and again was told it was safe to run the heat. Saturday morning came and went no one showed. We called AGAIN, and they told us it was marked as completed on their end but they would get someone out right away Sunday. They finally showed and the gentleman that came found the issue and said there was a clog.

That whole time we had been running our heat since September/October weve been exposed to carbon monoxide. If the technician had actually checked the flue which is part of their responsibility it could have all been avoided. When we expressed our concern to the company it took days to get a supervisor on the line. When we finally got ahold of one, they offered us $200 off the $2,900 service fee and that was it.

We will be cancelling our contract with them and letting all of our neighbors friends and family know not to use their company as well. We thought we might as well alert the public or people searching into their oil company as well.

Service manager performance can be abysmal - or outstanding

This is a most difficult review to write. Petro field service can provide expertise and service that is top end.

The perpetually weak spot is in the "service management" (SM) area. While the customer call center excels at providing timely responses, the SM area can be extraordinarily weak in terms of providing solutions. Lack of field experience is the weak link here.

The instructions from SM to field staff apparently consists of delay and obfuscate. A simple flow check replacement (which has been done in 30 minutes previously) results in delays that had required my watching space heaters used to heat my main living area overnight.

This is due to a circulator that ran continuously but its' zone not reaching temperature. After todays weak as water response I find myself up yet again overnight despite a service contract and 33 years of loyalty.

This is all part of the service contract which in and of itself would benefit from some added clarity - although this is not an issue here. NY may want to take notice of the above and try to learn from the experience as I have.

The potential is great - the failure is truly unfortunate.

Very Delayed Emergency Service

My AC has a problem. I have a "service" contract with Petro and have been a customer for over 30 years. I have been calling since Monday but can't get an appointment till Friday. This is not acceptable. Get enough techs and plan to respond on the same day!

Bad oil delivery

On 4/11/22, I spoke to Petro representative, Pauline, requesting a minimum oil delivery for 110.3 gallons. Pauline agreed to deliver the requested amount either the same day or the next business day.

The next business day on 4/12/22, Petro instead delivered a full tank of oil in the amount of 252.3 gallons. The bill for that oil delivery came up to $1170.42. Immediately, I contacted Petro and spoke to representative, Sal and explained to him that the oil that was delivered was way over the requested amount and that I didn't want to be responsible for the amount delivered. Sal acknowledged and confirmed that there were a mistake made on their end and that they would accommodate me.

Sal offered to discount the oil bill by taking off approximately $200. I disagreed and requested to speak to a supervisor. On 4/13/22, a supervisor name Marcel later contacted me and offered me around the same discount and allotted me more time to pay it off. I explained to Marcel that I would not need the extra oil because I was in the process of converting my oil to gas and that I shouldn't be responsible for the extra oil that was mistakenly delivered.

I even offered Petro to come and extracted the extra oil from my tank and they denied the offer. Marcel explained to me that he would contact upper management to resolve the issue.

Today on 4/19/22, Marcel contact me offering me the same deal and explained to me that they could not accommodate me for a mistake that they made on their end. I am seeking outside help to resolve this issue because I feel like Petro is handling this manner unfair and unprofessionally.

Petro Home Services - STAY AWAY FROM PETRO!!!!!

Petro was hired over a year ago to install a furnace. They broke beams in my ceiling and walls.

It was raining inside my home, in the furnace, down electric wires, down the wall through the co/smoke detector. They will not take responsibility for their damage. Norm the repair manage left me a message to contact my homeowners because they won't fix their damage. Of course my homeowners denied the claim since Petro so obviously caused the damage, Fast forward a year I still have no working furnace.

My home is filled with mold despite mitigation attempts. Now my home and all my belongings are completely destroyed. Total loss!!! They couldn't care less about their customers.

They were even delivering propane months after the furnace stopped working. Security cameras caught a repair man at my propane tank. Funny.

I didn't call them nor was I using propane since the furnace was filled with water and stopped working months prior. They fraudulently bill and will lie about what they do.

I feel unsafe

What absolute horror show this company is - you used to be so great and now you are appalling. You left me with an empty tank twice, now to overcompensate you deliver oil every three weeks.

I was just talking to a driver, his truck was running and I had to shot out to him.

I asked how much oil was in my tank, and I said I know its not your fault, in reference to the issues I am having with your company - he said It isnt so I dont need the attitude.

Because he is a sexist, and thinks he can talk to women like they are garbage. Like your customer service.

He surveyed my property in a very suspicious and concerning way in order to make me feel unsafe, while he was on the phone with someone, then got in his truck and drove away without answering my question.

He made me feel unsafe in my own home.

Today PETRO is charging 4.809 a gallon for gas. I have called 5 local full service oil delivery companies and the price range today for 100+ gallons of oil is 3.259 to 3.519 a gallon. When asked of PETRO why the price is so high I was told because they wake up their drivers in middle of night if I need oil. Please note- I called 1/10/22 for oil and soonest delivery was today 1/13/22. Run away from this company. Read all the reviews this company frequently practices unfair pricing.

Oil pricing and gouging

just recieved heating oil from petro a whopping 3.95 a gallon for off road diesel they must stop a truck stop and fill their trucks from a normal road fuel and bring it out to the house so guess I'm paying road tax to heat my house on a furnace that doesn't move an inch could have filled my oil tank from a wawa for less(3.80) they state it is because they provide 24 hour service which when you call are put on hold due to high call volume then processed to different agents for every question you ask I will be changing suppliers after this year ends and hope this helps other people from being ripped off from a company that has no help for the consumer but only a desire to pad their pockets BUYER BEWARE

Do NOT use this company! I paid for a plan for years that was supposed to cap oil prices at a certain amount but they charged me that ceiling price even when the actual price for oil was much lower! So they overbilled me twice -- for the plan and for the oil!!! Then they refused to correct my bill or acknowledge their scam! I understand they have done this to many other customers and there are class action lawsuits against them. Wish I could give them negative five stars, which is what they deserve for ripping off customers like this!

i recently had petro plumbing dept. at my house.. i needed a valve replaced on my radiator. i was quoted $6 -$7 hundred dollars depending on the amount of work and time needed. the tech was in my house 1 hour and i was billed $639.00.. crazy, when i asked for an itemized invoice i was told they dont do that,, guess what i ain't paying it.. looking for a phone number for corporate to call them.. help if you canno

Upstairs heat does not reach about 68 degrees. Elders living in home

When the outside temperature drops below 40, our upstairs heat doesnt reach above 68 and sometimes drops as low as 62 degrees

WORST COMPANY EVER. My husband canceled their service last year, this year we switch to gas and the company supposed to came back cut the pipes. This company came, nobody was at home, and they just pour oil in the house. We didn't have a tank anymore so they just pour in the basement where we have really expensive equipment worth over 15k, everything is destroyed. Metro home service refuse to compensate for the damage they make in our basement. On the top of that all house still smell on oil, and we can even sleep, I have a headache last few days. All stuff who we talk with was unprofessional, one technician came same day when this happen, and he just gives us some cherry spray and said like " Good luck with this, some people get money form them, some don't get anything. It could be worst." WHAAT? So this is not a single case, they do this all the time, pour oil in the wrong house and don't have any responsibility. That day they left recipe $10 and some change, today they send us another bill $80.00 for the person who came to see their mess! First this person came because of their mistake, second I will never pay them $80.00 only if they accept to pay damage what them make in my house! Someone needs to be responsible for this, the damage what the make is $15,000.00 ! DON'T USE THEIR SERVICE!!!
